The Bassingham Bash is a fast, flat 5-mile road race, held on quiet rural roads. It is organized with the needs of athletes in mind, to enjoy competitive racing at their own level. Promoted by Newark AC it produces some of the fastest UK times for 5 miles across the age categories each year, with many race participants achieving PB’s. Recent open race winners below:

This is the 19th consecutive annual staging of the event. This year the race also incorporates the Lincolnshire County Championship race over 5 miles. It is staged as part of the annual Bassingham Village Show, so bring your family and friends. All are welcome.

Bassingham is 10 minutes east of the A1 accessed from the A46 between Newark and Lincoln. Race day info will be sent out in the week before the event.

There are over £600 of cash prizes for first the three male/female senior and first the three U23 male/female. Veteran age category prizes male/female V40, V50, V60. Cash bonus for breaking course records, currently:

Entry fees are £16.00 affiliated, £18.00 unaffiliated.

Minimum age for entry is 15 years on the day of the race.

Entries will be available on the day but will be charged an extra £2.

All funds from the event are used directly to support Newark and Lincolnshire area young athlete development projects. In the last year this has included, training sessions, facilities hire, physiological testing support, travel expenses, and assistance with US scholarships
