Set in the beautiful grounds of Houghton Hall estate and with grateful permission of The Marquess of Cholmondeley our annual cross country offers a picturesque, fast and formidable course with some ‘interesting’ features that’s very spectator friendly. This is a fully licenced England Athletics event.
Our 2023 race is on the 5th November – There will be mud!
Directions
Coming from King’s Lynn or Fakenham follow signs to Houghton Hall off the A148 (PE31 6UE).
On the approach to the big white gates you’ll be directed towards the race car park.
On race day
Please arrive in plenty of time to familiarise yourself with the course and the surroundings.
Race registration is from the horse box (seriously!) where you can collect your race number or enter on the day.
Our course!
They are all off road with a mixture of grass terrain, rocky paths and hidden pits. The Houghton Hall estate keep livestock (which will be looking from a far) so expect there to be more than mud on the ground! Spikes or trail shoes are advised.
There is a number of cattle grids on the estate and are out of bounds to all runners and spectators.
Please respect the Houghton Hall estate by keeping it clean and tidy.
