Stody Estate Trail Run

Date: 02/03/2025

Location: Stody Estate, Holt

Website: link

Formally the Hunny Bell Cross Country, the Cecil Amey Stody Estate Trail Run offers the same great 8km route across the picturesque Stody Estate.  Relaunched for 2024 with some exciting new improvements for first time or experienced runners!

Giving special access to the normally private Stody Estate, this undulating route takes you across some of the best north Norfolk countryside and is a great opportunity to swap the roads for something a little more interesting.

Maybe try the 4km route for a first step into a trail run or take on the extended 12km run for that extra challenge.  Of course, for all those Hunny Bell Cross Country veterans, the 8km route is here for your enjoyment!

Funds raised from this highly anticipated event will go to Break, a charity which supports care-experienced children and young people – ensuring that there is always support for them when they need it, for as long as they need it.  Taking part in this trail run really changes young lives.

A huge army of volunteers will make this superb event possible. Volunteering is extremely rewarding and you don’t need any previous experience to take part. Email fundraising@break-charity.org if you could lend a hand.

Fancy taking on this challenge and run for FREE?  We have complimentary places for those wishing to raise funds for Break, all you have to do is pledge to raise a minimum sponsorship of £50. To apply for a charity place email please log on here and complete the form with your full details here

Car parking: There is ample car parking on the day in the topped field next to the Hunny Bell pub.  We do request that you consider car sharing where possible.  Please do not park in the Hunny Bell pub or at the Village Hall unless with prior arrangement.

Dogs: Unfortunately, due to the nature of the course, dogs are NOT permitted to accompany runners on the course.  You are welcome to bring your four-legged friend to the event but they must be kept on a short lead at all times.

Spectators: All supporters are welcome to join us on the day and come along for a coffee at the Village Hall!  Please note that buggies/wheelchairs may struggle on the routes around the event as these can become very muddy.

Toilets: We have ample toilets at the Village Hall and hope to also have toilet facilities at the start/finish line (subject to weather conditions prior to the event).

Baggage Store: There will be a bag drop facility available for use – please note this will not be manned, so consider valuables on the day.

Race Registration: We expect this race to sell out and therefore early registration is advised here.  You will receive a registration pack in the post.

What time should I arrive? There will be a special warm up session starting at 9.15am – everyone is welcome to join us for this - even spectators!

Results: will be available on the Total Race Timings website after the race and published on the Facebook page.

Teams: We offer a special rate for teams of 6 runners.  'Team' runners can also register as an individual and then enter their associated team name in the booking.  We will then take the best three recorded times on the day to score the teams. There is no limit to the amount of participants in each Team for this competition.

Event Partners:

Main sponsor for the event is Cecil Amey Opticians of Holt

The race is kindly supported and led by the North Norfolk Beach Runners – all marshals on the day are volunteers.
