We are thrilled to announce the 2025 Norfolk Gazelles Valentine’s 10k, held at Easton College. This year, we are especially excited to host the Norfolk County Championship Race over the 10k distance as part of the event. Additionally, the race is included in the popular Sportlink Grand Prix Series, making it the second race in the series. As always, the event is expected to sell out quickly, so stay tuned for further details.

Race Information

• Start Time: 10:00 AM
• UKA Licence No.: TBC
• Course Measurement Certificate: 21/387
• Entry Fees: £20 for affiliated runners, £22 for unaffiliated. Minimum age: 15 years on race day.
• Medal Option: Runners can opt out of receiving a medal, and we will donate to plant trees instead.
• Race Number: You may choose to have your race number posted for a small fee. Alternatively, numbers can be collected on race day at registration.

Important Notes

• The course is not suitable for wheelchairs.
• Runners with buggies or pets are not permitted.

Venue & Parking

• Race HQ: Easton College, Bawburgh Road, Norwich, NR9 5DX.
• Parking: Only marshals and those with accessibility needs can park at the College. Ample parking is available for participants at the Norfolk Showground (access via Dunham Road), a 5-minute walk from the venue.

Facilities

• Male and female toilets are available at the venue.
• A secure bag drop area will be provided at Race HQ.

Chip Timing

• The event will be chip-timed by Total Race Timing.
• Registration opens at 8:30 AM. Please arrive early to park, collect your race number, and settle in.  Registration will close at 9:45 AM
• Runners are required to write their name, emergency contact details, and any medical conditions on the reverse of their race number.

Course

• The race will be marshalled and clearly signposted.
• The 10k route covers a mix of paved and country roads.

FAQs

• Official Timing: Yes, official times will be provided by our timing company and can count toward your PB.
• Headphones: No headphones (including bone-conducting) are allowed. Any runners found wearing them will be disqualified in accordance with England Athletics rules.
• Age Requirement: Minimum age for participants is 15 years.
• Finishers' Medal: A medal will be available for every finisher, but you can opt to plant a tree instead.

Sportlink Grand Prix Prizes

• Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 overall male and female finishers, as well as winners in each age category.
• Team trophies will also be awarded (first male/female team, 3 runners per team).
• Presentations will take place as soon as official results are confirmed. Runners who cannot collect their prizes on the day must make alternative arrangements.

County Qualification

• This is a Norfolk County Road Race Championship event. You must declare if you hold a county qualification upon entering the race. If you enter a false declaration, you may be excluded from both the race and county results.”

County Medal Categories

• The individual age groups for Norfolk Road Race Championship events are:

• Men U18 (5k/10k only), M18-39, M40-44, M45-49, M50-54, M55-59, M60-64, M65-69, M70-74, M75+ 
• Women U18 (5k/10k only), W18-39, W40-44, W45-49, W50-54, W55-59, W60-64, W65-69, W70-74, W75+
• All ages as on the day of the event. 

County Trophies

• Perpetual trophies will be given to the host club by the series administrator prior to the event and are to be presented on the day to the male and female county champions. 

County Team Results

• There are two team age groups for men and two team age groups for women - under 40 and 40+ with all ages as on the day of the event. In both the men’s and ladies team age groups each team comprises four eligible runners.
• The results are determined for each team age group by aggregating the chip times of the first four eligible finishers from each affiliated club. The lowest aggregate wins.
• Norfolk team medals are awarded to the first three eligible teams from clubs affiliated to Athletics Norfolk in each team age group.
• “B” and “C” teams from clubs affiliated to Athletics Norfolk are eligible for Norfolk team medals.
