Mike Groves 10k

Location: Wroxham Barns

For this year, our Mike Groves 10k starts and finishes on the Wroxham Barns site. No countryside walk this time around, a road closure will ensure that everyone can negotiate a safe start. Run on local roads, the course undulates gently around a single lap through and to the north-east of Ashmanhaugh village. We'll again have a fun run for younger children prior to the main event (children's entry on the day, a donation to charity would be appreciated). The young ones course is confined to the WB site and takes in the highlights!

Race Start & Line-Up:

• Start is adjacent to the car park, 10:00 AM prompt.
• Runners should line up according to their estimated finish time to ensure a smooth start, accurate self-seeding is essential.
• The first 175m are completed on grass followed by a short length of graded gravel, it’s a bit tight, so please be very careful and follow Marshal’s instructions carefully.
• Children’s Fun Run 09:20 start, will run from the main race start zone. All finishers will gain a keepsake There is no cost for the fun run, but we would appreciate a contribution to our chosen charities.

Venue & Car Parking

• Car Parking: Available at the Wroxham Barns (WB) site. However, capacity is limited so please share were possible.
• Entry Point: Car park entrance is at what3words: ///crust.purest.calculate
• Travel: To reach WB, take the B1150 through Coltishall continuing towards North Walsham. Turn right at the Three Horseshoes crossroads toward Tunstead. Keep going through Tunstead toward Wroxham, you will find the WB site well signposted. Alternatively take the B1354 from Coltishall to Wroxham, pass under the railway bridge and just before the pedestrian crossing turn left into Tunstead Road, again WB is well signposted.
• Race HQ: Located within the start zone at WB. 

Facilities

• Toilets: Male and female facilities are available in the start zone and in the WB Courtyard.
• Refreshments: Hot and cold drinks and snacks available for purchase.
• Sportlink Stall: Last-minute gear purchases available from the event sponsor.

Registration & Race Numbers Collection

• Registration opens at 8:30 AM in the start zone at the Jaguars themed gazebo. You can also enter the children’s fun run here.

• Runners should arrive early in order to pick up numbers and complete admin in a timely manner.
• Race Numbers: Compulsoy! Write name, medical conditions, and emergency contact details on the back.
• Bag Drop: There is no bag drop, car parking is adjacent.

Course Details

• Fully marshalled & signed There will be a road closure for the start.
• Water station Marshal point 6, just over half way.
• Runners encouraged to bring refillable bottles to reduce waste.

Timing & Results

• Chip timing provided by Total Race Timing.
• Results will be posted online and on social media.
• Times will count towards PBs and official rankings.

• Terrain: Paved countryside lanes. Note: The race starts on grass!
• Minimum Age: 15 years+.
• Medals: Available to all finishers.
• Headphones: Not permitted (including bone conduction headphones, unless prior permission given, contact Race Director).
• Dogs, Buggies, and Wheelchairs: Not permitted.

Individual Results:

The first three men and women will be determined by use of Gun time. All age categories will be determined by use of Chip time.

Trophies will be awarded for a variety of age and team categories and will be given out on the day.
