Run the picturesque pathways, lanes and bridleways in and around Thompson, spurred on by our super-friendly marshals. Whether you are a frequent runner, a first timer, a speed fiend or a leisurely jogger, we look forward to welcoming you to this multi-terrain event.  We were bowled over by last year’s 5k winner, a turbocharged 11 year old - what an achievement!  And last year’s 10k winner has won the Thompson 10k more times than we can remember – impressive. Will they carry off the winners’ trophies this year?

Entry fee: 

£18 affiliated and £20 non affiliated for the 10k

£14 affiliated and £16 non affiliated for the 5k

Age/other restrictions:

Entrants must be 15 years or older for the 10k, and 11 years or older for the 5k. The course is not suitable for wheelchairs, buggies, or pets.

Registration:     From 9.30am

Where:               Thompson Community Hall, School Rd, Thompson, Norfolk, IP24 1PY

Start Times:       11.00am for the 10k;  11.15am for the 5k

Cut-off:               The run cut-off time for both distances is 12.30pm

Timing:               The 10k and 5k runs are NOT chip timed

Medals / trophies: Bespoke medals for all runners. Trophies for 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd male and female runners for both distances. The timing of prize giving depends on run finish times but will be around 12.30pm, and no later than 12.45pm.

Parking: Use the clearly signposted parking areas near the Thompson Community Hall. Please do not park on the roadside. Roadsides MUST be kept clear for the safety of runners and for emergency vehicles

Facilities: Refreshments, toilets, parking, unattended baggage area, large children’s play area

Water station: At approximately 6k and at the finish line - please bring a refillable bottle where possible and we can fill it for you

Medical Assistance: If you feel pain, experience dizziness or any other symptoms immediately stop running and seek help from a marshal, who can phone/radio for medical assistance. There will be an ambulance on site.

In-ear headphones are banned from the run. Bone conducting headphones are permitted, as per England Athletics rules, so long as you can hear marshal instructions clearly

Photos: We usually have a photographer taking photos of runners. Details of where to view photos will be available in the hall

Charity details: All profits from this annual event go to the Thompson Millennium Green Charitable Trust (Charity number 1073130) and are used for the ongoing preservation and upkeep of the Green and its assets, to benefit the flora, fauna and communities that use it.
