Reepham Runners are pleased to be back on 31^st January 2027 to host their annual WINTER CROSS COUNTRY RACE! 

Juniors aged 11+ & Adults — Everyone Welcome!

Fancy getting properly muddy this winter? Then this is the race for you! Come and take on a traditional, old-school cross-country course packed with everything you’d expect from a proper winter XC race:

Muddy tracks. Dykes & ditches. Rivers to splash through. Open meadows.  Plenty of twists, turns and challenging terrain. And, of course… LOTS OF FUN!

 

Choose your challenge:

1 lap — approximately 5K or 2 laps — approximately 10K

Whether you’re a seasoned cross-country runner, a junior looking for a new challenge, or simply fancy getting out there and embracing the mud, this race is for you!

Get ready to run, splash, slip, laugh and get VERY muddy!

 Date: 31^st January 2027? Location: Whitwell Station NR10 4GA  ⏰ Start: 1000 Juniors 1015 Adults. 

Leave the clean / new trainers at home… this one is going to be messy!

A very special thank you to Whitwell Station for kindly allowing us to use their facilities for the race. We really appreciate their support!

And please stick around after the race — we’ll have plenty of drinks, snacks, cakes and maybe even a beer or two! 

We’d also like to give an honourable mention to Macgregor Partnership Farming for kindly giving us permission to access and run across some of their land. It’s their generosity that helps us create a proper, traditional XC course — and we’re very grateful!

This year, we’re delighted to be offering cash prizes for our top finishers:

1st Male & 1st Female ? 2nd Male & 2nd Female ? 3rd Male & 3rd Female

And for our younger runners:

 1st Junior Male & 1st Junior Female

 

 Dogs: 

NO DOGS are permitted at the race this year. We’re sorry for the disappointment!

You are welcome to bring your dogs along to support around Whitwell Station, but please note that dogs are strictly prohibited on the farmland due to sheep grazing.

 

Toilets:

There is an external toilet block at Whitwell Station available for runners to use.

Please be mindful of muddy trainers and kindly change your shoes before entering the toilets after the race. Thank you for helping us keep the facilities clean!

 

Car Parking: 

Parking is available at Whitwell Station. Our friendly marshals will direct you to the available spaces when you arrive.

 

 Water Stations:

There are no water stations out on the course.

However, runners will have access to water as they pass back through Whitwell Station after completing their first lap.

 

 OUR SUSTAINABILITY PROMISE:

We’re continuing our focus on sustainability this year and are making a few simple choices to help reduce the environmental impact of the event.

We’ll be using compostable cups, and we’d really appreciate it if runners could bring their own drinks bottle/cup for the finish line where possible. ?

There will also be no race medal this year. We strongly feel that, rather than producing hundreds of medals that may have a limited lifespan, we can make a much more meaningful and positive contribution by supporting our chosen local charities, with a particular focus on protecting and caring for nature and the environment.. 

 

MEDICAL COVER:

Your safety is important to us. Medical cover will be provided at Race HQ and around the course by Rescue Medical Solutions, ensuring support is available should it be needed.
